AllMusic Review by

By 1960 the big-band era was long over and Charlie Barnet's name was attached nostalgically to the World War II years. However the semiretired saxophonist refused to merely revisit the past and this somewhat obscure LP finds him leading a septet through some fine swing standards, only a couple of which were originally identified with him. Lynn Franklin does a good job of singing four of the ten numbers and the backup band (unidentified on the record but comprised of trumpeter Bill Mattison, trombonist Joe Cadena, Bob Jung on alto and baritone, pianist Al Marlow, bassist Carson Smith and drummer Roy Roten) does a good job of accompanying the swing legend.
