Occasional Light is a collection of ten lengthy experiments from the multi-track recorder of Chris Jeely. The opener (and title track) begins with the pinball effect of some live-in-the-studio percussion blocks and a deft bassline, then gradually accumulates several layers of gorgeous guitar fuzz. "Hold Your Breath" and "Inward" are tight, repetitive, minimalist pieces with trance-inducing guitar effects and nimble bass playing. A few pieces add drum tracks to the production, but for the most part Occasional Light is comprised of voluminous, blissful song experiments.
