Imagine the Vindictives if they had an attitude problem and a darker sense of humor. Apocalypse Hoboken represents snotty, cynical Midwestern pop-punk with an edge. Sure, the songs on Now's Not a Good Time are a little on the bleak side, but they somehow squeeze a little fun into the tragedy of everyday headlines -- and their covers of Motley Crue's "Live Wire" and the Breeders' "Do You Love Me Now?" are a scream.
