A compilation that not only showcases four Grand Rapids, MI, bands of different variety, but it's also supported by a number of local business throughout out the area. A very inspiring release that provides an equal variety of interesting bands. Whirlwind Beat contributes a distorted track of bass-driven noise that looks up to early Butthole Surfers -- especially since it's difficult to tell which speed it's supposed to be played on. Mechanik lives up to their name with an electronic instrumental of drum machines and creepy synthesizers that sounds like a throwaway track from Herbie Hancock's Future Shock album. The B-side is a lot less experimental but more straightforward, guitar based rock, as the Jobbers provide a live track of straight-up, early-'80s hardcore. Nothing too outstanding, but fun nonetheless. Then there's the emo pop-punk of Dashboard Lucas, whose melodic "Last Words" is the best track out of the four, even if it takes a couple minutes to tell if that's a guy or girl singing lead.
