Native Brotherhood marks yet another successful blend of Ruben Romero's nimble Spanish guitar with Robert Tree Cody's plangent Native American flute. Like its predecessor, the award-winning Native Flamenco, there's something for fans of both Spanish and Native American music, though here the focus is more on the new world than the old. Yes, it's much more suitable for a new age bookstore than home listening, but Native Brotherhood stands two or three steps above the rut of touchy-feely "ethnic" music. Also featured are flutist Ronald Roybal, flutist/percussionist Dan Namingha, and steel-string guitarist Carolyn Muller.
