While Augie Meyers will always be best known as the keyboardist behind Doug Sahm, and the man whose organ riff on Sahm’s “She’s About a Mover” made history, he’s also got an extensive solo catalog. On this self-produced 1998 outing, Meyers presents a well balanced cross-section of conjunto-influenced Tex-Mex stompers, ‘50s-style R&B strolls, and Mexican-tinged balladry. While Meyers plays accordion as well as other keyboards, (see the album title), his Texas Tornados bandmate Flaco Jimenez stops in to lend some squeezebox magic too.
