If the point of this company's series of first-themed praise & worship CDs is to get little kids to think more loving, spiritual thoughts, then one can't find fault with their sincerity. What can be criticized are the bland arrangements of songs that are part of the modern-day contemporary worship experience. The idea is to start a drum machine, add some synthesizer cheese, and have a couple bland-voiced girls sing very powerful words with no emotion whatsoever. There are a few more inspired moments, as on "Lord I Lift Your Name on High," which features a tropical groove and some accordion harmonies. The sad thing is that the producers probably think this cheap approach will capture the kids anyway. A pity they don't realize that even little kids know great productions when they hear them and are more apt to listen and sing along to adult worship CDs than this sort of stuff.
