Gnonnas Pedro's Musique Afro-Cubaine, Vol. 2 is more African than Cuban in flavor. Vol. 2 is also somewhat less compelling than Vol. 1. For people new to his music, Vol. 1 would be the first choice. However, Vol. 2 does have some strong material on it. "Africa Tei Cuba" swings hard with the accent on the Cuban side. The cover of Beny Moré's "Yiri Yiri Boum" is memorable for Pedro's pearl-like vocals, and puts out solid bass. There are a few slower tracks that lack strength, and there is less originality in the songwriting on this album.
