This LP provides more in the superlative set of music from Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History. The instrumental set is notable for fine, complex pieces for fife and drums, along with some of the state's wild brass-band music plus pieces for Spanish and (enchanting) jarana guitars. Like all the volumes in the series, this is as outstanding for its musical quality as authenticity and rarity. Good Spanish-language notes are included.
