AllMusic Review by

Ironically enough, the sublime Music Diary series comes to an end with Primavera, a volume bursting with the new life that spring's return portends. Mixing and matching the pop, jazz, and bossa nova elements that dominated preceding editions, the March entry is as much about context as content: each track boasts the kinds of lithe melodies and supple grooves that radiate warmth and positive energy, with special attention paid to romantic ballads, perfect for the time of year when a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of love. Highlights include Dusty Springfield's "Close to You," the Coffee Set's "It's Not Unusual," and Astrud Gilberto's "Here, There and Everywhere."
