AllMusic Review by Scott Yanow

During 1949-50, Dorsey enjoyed leading a small group taken out of his big band to play Dixieland. This English LP finds the hot band (which featured Charlie Teagarden's trumpet and sometimes Cutty Cutshall's trombone) jamming on a set of Dixieland standards. Jimmy Dorsey, who mostly sticks to clarinet, clearly enjoyed playing this music; perhaps he should have spent the 1950s in similar small combos instead of permanently joining his brother's orchestra in 1952.
