The four volumes of Disky's More Maximum '80s series are spent compiling 12" mixes of dancefloor-oriented pop singles, from new wave to Italo disco to hip-hop to sophisti-pop. While each U.K.-centric disc has its share of material that is best left in the decade of origin, they are perfectly tailored for DJs and '80s aficianados alike. The box set packages all four volumes together, making for a quick way to obtain a substantial chunk of energetic, party-ready material in one shot. The discs are a nice alternative to the average '80s-based series, but they're definitely not for everyone.
