AllMusic Review by

Ex-Phantom Gift Sally Kubota's answer to Pizzicato Five made its full-length debut in April of 1994 with an album that built on the experiments in French pop of its first two EPs. Surprisingly, none of those EPs' songs return here -- instead, this is a collection of 11 brand-new tracks, with no filler to be heard. This is not a great album -- Kubota doesn't have a wide palette, and vocalist Hitomi 19 has a serviceable voice at best, but listeners will get a kick out of the Swing Out Sister-isms of "Paris Cruise," the pop-psychedelia of "Jungle Strip," and the funky rewrite of Serge Gainsbourg's "69 Anée Érotique," with Hitomi's own poetry recital declared between choruses.
