Battery Cremil is an outstanding talent from the French Antilles who produces consistently high-quality zouk albums. To zouk aficionados, he is well known and highly respected. Moin Bisoin la Pe features his group Love and is zouk at its best. There are variety, changes, keyboard wizardry, and drive. There's also a Haitian feel to some of the tracks. Although short at 30 minutes, each track puts out that French Antillean swing aimed at the hips. The horns are the real thing and are arranged tightly. The percussion is synthesized but is layered to create a soundscape that cuts a polyrhythmic swath across the beat. Battery Cremil knows how to keep zouk alive. He just keeps making good albums. If you can find any of his music, grab it.
