Miniatures is an apt title for this CD. The compilation has the character of a sketch book, a collection of varied ideas. The tracks can be compared with impressionistic paintings. In general the mood is more friendly and approachable, if adjectives like this can actually be used for the works of Peter Frohmader. That does not mean that this is a new age or easy listening album, but there are less "angst" music elements -- no distortions, noises, or painful sounds. Some tracks have a jazzy feel; in some classical orchestra sounds are used. Frohmader´s musical trademark, the basses, are more in the background, while the keyboards dominate most tracks.
