AllMusic Review by

The soundtrack to Trainspotting director Danny Boyle's delightful coming of age fantasy, the jubilant and affective Millions, is typically esoteric. Boyle, who also served as the album's executive producer, builds his films around music as effortlessly as contemporaries like Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson. Composer John Murphy's whimsical score is bursting with orchestral, choral and electronic ideas, and while it may occasionally veer off into Edward Scissorhands-land, it genuinely reflects both the spiritual and mischievous nature of the film's protagonists. His various themes are sandwiched between an eclectic mix of wistful chamber pop (Muse), upbeat dance-pop and good old-fashioned punk (the Clash), resulting in a listening experience that's as charming, wistful and enlightening as the film itself.
