Clara Nunes was one of the greatest samba artists ever to have emerged from Brazil, and during her career she performed and recorded many great songs by the most famous composers of the samba genre. This compilation includes some of her most well-known recordings and gives some very good samples of her extensive discography. Among the highlights are the mighty "Portela na Avenida" by Mauro Duarte and Paulo César Pinheiro, the beautiful samba ballad "Juízo Final" by Élcio Soares and Nelson Cavaquinho, and "Na Linha do Mar" by Paulinho da Viola. Apart from the different interpretations, there is also "Feira de Mangaio," a typically accordion-driven forró song, and the Bahian Axé-styled "Ijexá."
