Goldie's second compilation for Metalheadz had more in common with his Platinum Breakz series for London Records than the legendary silver box set that Metalheadz Presents: MDZ02 was intended to follow up. While the first album gathered together downtempo tracks as well as full-speed cuts from such notables as Photek, Dillinja, J Majik, Ed Rush, and Optical, this sophomore outing concentrates on material from the second wave of Metalheadz devotees, who made their debut on the label in a series of singles released through 2001-2002. The likes of Klute, Marcus Intallex, S.T. Files, Sonic, Silver, and the Invaderz dutifully offer a track each, with this wealth of material of a competent quality, though perhaps lacking the cohesiveness of preceding outings -- an important point considering the awesome reputation of the label. That said, the re-emergence of Jonny L is sure to turn heads, while the sonic deviation of Hidden Agenda and Total Science is also well worth a listen.
