A "collectors' only" form of album from Martha Reeves, released by the regularly unreliable Direct Source label in 2006, this inexplicably-self-titled disc is a poor collection of "new recordings" that contains performances of hits from across the singer's career: "Dancing in the Street," "Heatwave," "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "I Say a Little Prayer," "Come See About Me," and the like. Though Reeves sounds fine in most cases, these versions falter with cheap (and sometimes downright chintzy) backings; none of them come close to matching the originals. Direct Source pumps out discs like this by the dozens, and there's really no reason to pay attention to any of them.
