AllMusic Review by

Formed in Surrey, England in 1963, the Yardbirds were one of the most groundbreaking bands on the British Blues scene of the '60s. Starting as blues purists who even backed harmonica legend Sonny Boy Williamson, with time they added adventurous pop, rock, and psychedelic accents to their music, and became a training ground for some of the greatest guitarists in the U.K., including Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. In 1996, founding Yardbirds members Jim McCarty and Chris Dreja assembled a new version of the band, featuring Ben King, Andy Mitchell, and David Smale, and began touring regularly, keeping the group's musical legacy alive. Making Tracks is a video collection that captures the revived Yardbirds on-stage from 2010 to 2012, performing classic hits and fan favorites. Selections include "I'm Not Talkin'," "Smokestack Lightning," "Happenings Ten Years Ago," "For Your Love," "Shapes of Things," "My Blind Life," and many more.
