This LP from French Columbia was more valuable upon its release than it is now that Armstrong's recordings have been reissued on CD. Its 13 performances are mostly fairly rare and include alternate takes of "Symphonic Raps" (which features Louis Armstrong with Carroll Dickerson's Savoyagers in 1928). "I Can't Give You Anything but Love" (a test pressing rarely reissued) and six big-band selections from 1929-32, most of which were originally only issued in South America. In addition Armstrong's recordings with the strange pop singer Seger Ellis and the 1929 jam session blues "Knockin' a Jug" round out this interesting set.
