A true obscurity, this 1983 LP matches the great drummer Louie Bellson and bassist George Duvivier with a pair of little-known veterans: altoist Jack Scott and pianist Warren Parrish. Scott displays a pretty tone and a lyrical style that are quite complementary to Parrish's mainstream style. The quartet performs six jazz standards, including "Blues Walk," "Ruby, My Dear," "Stolen Moments" and "Prelude to a Kiss" in winning fashion. Straight-ahead collectors will want to pick up this release, despite the unfamiliar lead voices and label.
