AllMusic Review by

Critics and reviewers have been taking potshots at Irish rocker Gary Moore for over 30 years, bitching about subject matter, eclecticism, originality, consistency, and inconsistency, but usually ending up focusing mostly upon their own expectations and preconceptions. In 1997, Recall Records brought out Looking at You, a 28-track Moore anthology that shuffles together material from two studio albums -- G-Force (1979) and Dirty Fingers (1984) -- and chases it down with the entire album Live at the Marquee Club, which dates from 1980. Rather than obsessing over how to categorize Moore's music, it might be wise to crank this up really loud and accept it for what it is -- rock & roll music played exactly the way that Gary Moore meant to play it at the time.
