AllMusic Review by

These radio airchecks feature cornetist Bobby Hackett and clarinetist Tony Parenti sitting in with a fine pickup group in New Jersey for two standards and a lengthy blues medley, the local musicians getting three tunes to themselves, Parenti rejoining them for "That's a Plenty" and the great trumpeter Red Allen dominating "Squeeze Me" and "I Wish I Could Shimmy like My Sister Kate." Nothing unique occurs, but the good feelings generated at the sessions can still be savored (along with the frequently hot music) four decades later.
