AllMusic Review by

The last recording by the original lineup of Air (Henry Threadgill on alto, tenor, baritone and hubkaphone, bassist Fred Hopkins and drummer Steve McCall) finds the group stretching out on a pair of Threadgill originals ("Let's All Go Down to the Footwash" and "Abra"), plus the group improv "Suisse Air" at the 1978 Montreux Jazz Festival. McCall would soon depart (replaced in New Air by Pheeroan akLaff). One of the more notable avant-garde groups of the era, Air's music frequently takes several listens to appreciate, and that is true of this passionate yet thoughtful outing.
