AllMusic Review by

For this live solo album from Toronto, pianist Dick Wellstood mostly plays remakes of songs he had recorded earlier (including "Jingle Bells," "The Entertainer" and "Rubber Duckie") plus a variety of veteran swing-era standards. Wellstood was one of the top stride pianists of the past 50 years (along with Ralph Sutton) yet had a strong musical curiosity that reached beyond early jazz as can be heard in some of his improvisations. Excellent music.
