Little America, the tenth release by long-tenured Ohio rockers Red Wanting Blue is a warm, dusty road trip of an album that leans on classic Americana sounds and themes. Assisted by longtime producer Jamie Candiloro, the album is as comforting and familiar as a cup of coffee and a slice of pie at a roadside diner. Frontman Scott Terry's enthusiastic rustbelt crooning rides atop a flatbed of acoustic guitar, mandolin, Hammond organ, and a tube amp glow that creates a unifying and pleasing atmosphere over the course of ballads like "It's All Happening" and gentle country rockers like "You Are My Las Vegas." Fans of the band's later output will feel right at home with the songs and style of Little America.
