Lovable cowpunks the Ditchdiggers mix a lively white trash cocktail that's equal parts rock, country, and surf on the raucous Light and Salvation. Lead singer (and Elvis lookalike) Chris Gray ruminates on appropriate subjects such as "Cheap Hotels," "Mudflap Cutie"s, and "Flatbed Love," while guitarists Lars Nagel and Bryan Stuart provide a suitably twangy bed of barnstorming rockabilly guitars. The Ditchdiggers' obvious kitsch factor is balanced by their solid playing and fun, memorable songs.
