Old and new are blended to create a fantasy journey through time and space by Daniel Blanchet on Les Voilers de L'Espace, which means "The Voyagers of Space." His previous titles, Le Chemin and Les Harmonies, showed considerable diversity within contemporary space music styles. On his latest venture, Blanchet takes us in several directions. Opening with a five-movement suite of gentle synthesizer orchestration supporting acoustic guitar, Blanchet then leads into provocative, modern landscapes with sweeping textures and sensuous harp melodies. Stylistically, the music falls somewhere between Jarre and Lynch with similar planetarium atmospherics to Jonn Serrie.
