Taken from a French musical comedy, the music on Les Mille et une Vies d'Ali Baba is a catchy take on the Alan Menken and Howard Ashman style of musical theater. With boisterous arrangements that are not only catchy but incredibly energetic, at times this feels like the soundtrack to a Warner Bros. cartoon. Fans of engaging musical theater who don't mind the language difference should hunt this down; it is a surprisingly entertaining soundtrack that has a lot wider appeal than it would seem.
