Al Gromer Khan is a prolific ambient sound designer who has released about one and a quarter CDs per year since 1990. Some of them are among the best electro-tribal discs of all time. While Konya does not reach quite that level, it is still very good. Khan mixes his virtuoso sitar with electronic atmospheres and large doses of positive energy to create a new meditative classical style. This is Khan's "paisley music" -- it is a creation rather than a definition. His style is unique and smooth. This CD will appeal to fans of Robert Rich, Klaus Wiese, David Parsons, and Deborah Van Dyke.
