Anytime you see the name Kitsuné on a compilation, you know you are going to be getting a quality mix. The French fashion house/record label has impeccable taste and their series of releases has been instrumental in giving new electronic and dance acts visibility, but just as importantly, a guaranteed good time. Their 2010 collaboration with fellow countrymen Ponystep, a website and club night, provides both experiences with the expected amount of excellence. The disc is an emotionally involved, steadily flowing mix of dancefloor-friendly tunes by some big names like Booka Shade, Lindstrom, and Aeroplane, newcomers like Florrie, Voltaire Twins and MAY68, and even a remixed Adamski track. Ponysteps' resident DJ Jerry Bouthier mixes the songs with a sure hand, keeping you on the floor but also creating a slightly melancholy but still highly danceable mood with his choices. It’s another classic Kitsuné compilation, and if you want to stay up on what’s happening on the dance scene in 2010, you’ll need to add it to your collection.
