Featured is Spirited music for the gamelan-like pinpeat orchestra and the more down-home phleng khmer (fiddles, plucked lute, drums, oboe). Musicians of the Royal Palace (including a trio of women singers) perform court dance music; the National Theater's pinpeat plays music for the sbek thom shadow-play; and its phleng khmer performs three wedding songs. It was recorded in France in 1991 and 1994. The notes are brief but usable.
