Lucie Arnaz would never claim to be a jazz singer, but since this recording is on Concord, it is worth mentioning. Arnaz displays an attractive and very clear voice that is able to hold long notes without wavering. She also has a gentle sense of swing, although her interpretations of standards contain no improvisation. She is backed by a big band, and there are cameos by altoist Gary Foster, tenorman Bob Cooper and clarinetist Ken Peplowski, but this album is of greater interest to Tony Bennett fans than to those listeners who collect Ella Fitzgerald recordings.
