AllMusic Review by

One and a half broadcasts taken from the Jubilee radio series are included on this collector's LP. One has to sit through a lot of nonsensical babble from the host Ernie "Bubbles" Whitman and a not-so-funny comedy routine by Jerry Lester but there are a few worthwhile musical moments. Jimmy Lunceford's big band plays four numbers including a version of "Holiday for Strings" that finds the leader making a rare appearance on flute. In addition the Eddie South Trio plays two numbers (including pianist Billy Taylor's advanced "Mad Monk"), Maxine Sullivan takes two vocals, the Golden Gate Quartet performs "Straighten Up and Fly Right" and Art Tatum has a solo piano version of "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes." Quite a grab bag.
