This long out-of-print LP is most significant for including six selections that feature trumpeter Punch Miller on trumpet and vocals. Punch (who did not record all that much during the 1940s) is in excellent form heading a unit with clarinetist Edmond Hall, trombonist Jimmy Archey and the young Ralph Sutton on piano. The second side of the album has five titles from the primitive but spirited trumpeter Mutt Carey that also include Archey and Hall. The latter date has since been reissued on a two-fer but on a whole all of this enjoyable music remains difficult to locate.
