AllMusic Review by

This LP (whose contents have been since reissued by Biograph on CD), contains 11 selections from the Edison catalog, performances that are a bit lengthy by 1920s standards, an average of four (as opposed to three) minutes apiece. The four selections from Red and Miff's Stompers feature cornetist Red Nichols, trombonist Miff Mole and clarinetist Jimmy Dorsey, there are two numbers from trumpeter Phil Napoleon's Orchestra and five by The California Ramblers. Fine melodic jazz with more than its share of excellent solos.
