Trombonist Jack Teagarden led one of his best groups in 1958 and fortunately several fine recordings resulted. This obscure LP has Teagarden, cornetist Dick Oakley, clarinetist Jerry Fuller, pianist Don Ewell, bassist Stan Pulch and drummer Ronnie Greb performing seven rather familiar Dixieland tunes including "Beale Street Blues," "High Society" and "When the Saints Go Marching In." Ewell is also featured on a spirited version of Fats Waller's "Handful of Keys." Teagarden fans will want to search for this hard-to-find album.
