What Terry Stafford was to Elvis Presley and America was to Neil Young, Tendure's Dream is to the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Tendure apes Hendrix's guitar style and vocal mannerisms, steals an occasional phrase ("you got me floating"), and features backup by Hendrix sidekicks Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell. Hell, he even dresses and looks a lot like Hendrix. All of which is not to say that he isn't talented or that this album isn't likable; on the contrary, the guitar work is excellent and Tendure proves himself a versatile singer, capable of funky rock one minute and a soulful ballad the next. Innovative, however, he is not, and while Hendrix fans in particular should find his work highly listenable, you have to wonder why they'd invest time in this when they could be listening to Hendrix himself.
