This 2010 reissue from the Trigger label is basically the Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem's iconic second album, Come Fill Your Glass with Us, masquerading under the less subtle but probably more descriptive title Irish Drinking Songs. Originally released in 1959, this robust set has become the world standard-bearer for classic Irish pub songs. The group's hearty delivery of tunes like "Finnegan's Wake" and "Whisky You're the Devil" set against the appealingly sparse production gives the music a timeless feel, and Liam Clancy's mournful delivery of Ireland's eternal last-call closer "Parting Glass" is one of the sweetest sounds in folk music. No matter its title, any collection that includes these recordings is worth hearing.
