AllMusic Review by

A strangely serene and contemplative spin on the modern thriller score, James Newton Howard's Intersection might well have worked better accompanying a very different film; as it stands, it's undoubtedly well-crafted and thoughtful, but simply too tranquil for the genre it accompanies. Howard's piano- and synthesizer-dominated melodies veer far to close to new age feelgoodery for comfort. There's a regrettable absence of tension here, and when the music does turn dark, most notably via "The Accident," the transformation is jarring, not to mention too little too late.
