AllMusic Review by

Filmed in June 2014 at the Bell House in Brooklyn, the hourlong In Ruins is comedy veteran Eddie Pepitone's first filmed standup special. It follows a 2012 documentary about him titled The Bitter Buddha, and Pepitone demonstrates the well-earned nickname with insightful and self-critical humor mixed with rants about how frustrating it is that humans don't behave better than they do. He philosophically challenges everything from the nature of the "Round of Applause" to "The Price of the Iraq War" (darkly envisioned as a game on the TV game show The Price Is Right). Directed by Steve Feinartz (The Bitter Buddha, Matt Braunger: Big Dumb Animal), In Ruins was released on small screens in August 2014 and on audio in 2015.
