AllMusic Review by

This particular I'm So Excited, not to be confused with the Pointer Sisters' 1982 studio album of the same title, is an odd off-brand anthology. It features only 11 songs and doesn't come close to using the space allowed by a compact disc. Ten of the selections come from the Pointers' late-'70s and early-'80s Planet releases. Among the hits not included is "Jump (For My Love)," the group's biggest hit. The 11th selection is a random cut taken from 1974's That's a Plenty, released on Blue Thumb. Not recommended, despite the presence of "He's So Shy," the title track, "Automatic," and "Dare Me."
