There was always something about Mike Hard's voice that made it sound like it was on 33 RPM while the rest of his band was playing in 45 RPM. A recording trick where his vocal tracks were slowed down? Sure sounds like it on his second post-God Bullies project Thrall. And with the I Want You EP, Hard's trademark is as disturbingly present as ever, while musically Thrall accompanies the cynicism of his lyrics that deal with obsessive love and shattered family lives. Not a happy group of campers, but one can't help to laugh along with Thrall, even if they hit a little too close to home sometimes.
