This English trio likes it minimal. Imagine the quietest song that could possibly be on Wire's Pink Flag, a band more interested in silence, and in the vaguely unsettling moods that come from playing slowly and without amps on "2," and vocals that wait 10-30 seconds between passages. It's best when the violin joins in on track four, "That is Thunder," for something more than just post-punk meandering, however nice N.P. Frank's singing. In general, a stronger sense of song structure and more than just scratched-at guitars are needed over a 38-minute LP -- the lack of hooks or developments is wearing -- but if those things aren't high on your list, this is not bad.
