This entry in British budget reissue label Prism Leisure's Dance Band Days series focuses on the Andrews Sisters, and although no information is provided in the CD packaging beyond song titles and songwriting and publishing information, the source of the material appears to be airchecks drawn from the network radio show Club 15, on which the Andrews Sisters were featured prominently between 1947 and 1951. The evidence for surmising this comes from the song list, which includes the group's 1949-1950 number one hit "I Can Dream, Can't I?," among others of their late-'40s numbers, and from the presence of the guest performers, Bob Crosby and Dick Haymes, both of whom did duty as host of Club 15. (Haymes makes a strong impression with a typically smooth and becalmed reading of the 1949 Frankie Laine hit "That Lucky Old Sun.") The sisters are characteristically charming and vivacious on these live radio recordings, and the album would make a good addendum to the collection of any fan of the group.
