When a group combines the junkyard circus instrumentation (and sometimes vocals) reminiscent of Tom Waits and the slop blues-rock of, say, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion or some Fat Possum artists, the overall impression can't help but be: "Demented." Disturbed and proud, this haphazard percussion-vocals-harmonica (and miscellaneous instruments) gang throw down in a manically happy way. Some might mistake that grin for a leer, but don't be so paranoid, the boys are just having fun. Did I mention they often stage street performances? In 2001, Hobo Train was reissued by Vaccination records on CD with five additional tunes.
