Thomas Edison was a genius but he did not care much for jazz. His Edison label did not record much jazz before the company folded in 1929; many of the more interesting examples are included on this IAJRC LP, The music ranges from jazz to dance music and blues with performances from the Charleston Seven (which includes cornetist Red Nichols and trombonist Miff Mole), singers Josie Miles, Rosa Henderson and Viola McCoy and such bands as those led by Ross Gorman, B.A. Rolfe and Joe Herlihy. Interesting music, it's worth checking out by '20s collectors.
