One of two soundtracks from the Bruce McDonald film of the same name. This CD features a number of songs from and inspired by the film. The intent of this compilation was to feature as many genres of music as possible, and quite simply, it does not work, due to the weak material provided by the artists.
Styles are represented from zydeco, dance, and rockabilly to rock, Tom Jones ("It's Not Unusual"), and folk. There are a few shining moments, most notably the Razorbacks ("My Way or the Highway"), but the real star of the soundtrack is the unjustly underrated and unknown Sam Larkin, who provides the catchy, moody "folk" song "Sally On." Overall, a disappointing album.
