AllMusic Review by

Hawaiian Percussion is the same session as the Pink Hawaii LP, except with the tracks in a different order. There is also Blue Hawaii, which is half Billy Mure; all of the tunes on that LP are on Hawaiian Percussion. According to Sidney H. Ascher's liner notes, the name "Pink Hawaii" is not merely a play on the old Bing Crosby hit "Blue Hawaii"; evidently Mure was inspired by a comment Jack Paar made about the famous, all-pink Hawaiian hotel.

While not as flashy or diverse as his later records, Hawaiian Percussion is a solid album of guitar playing and Hawaiian standards.
